It's a great film - we (Monterey County Film Commission) are working on doing a screening with Wavy in attendance, Rock on the panel, and with Michelle Estrick (director/producer/Odetta's daughter). DA Pennebraker (Monterey Pop/Don't Look Back) is the Executive Producer. This is NOT a love letter to hippies, the GD (who are only briefly and intermittently referenced), etc but is about (IMO and that of Estrick) a call to service to others (which has always been a theme of Wavy, Ram Dass, Larry Brilliant, and others affiliated w/ Seva, REX Foundation, etc). I highly recommend viewing it.

"not a love letter to hippies"
sounds like the red-neck barbershop of my childhood,
that had a "no hippies" sign in the window.

never met a "hippie" I guess it's like the elephant to a blind man...it depends where you touch it.
("hippie"to me- is a stereotyped media "h" word)

a poorly defined word, mostly used by the ignorant.
surprised to see such a statement here,
I wonder what Wavy's comment on this would be.
(he's very cool in my book)

don't let the gates of Eden hit you on the ass
while your waving your list of "good deeds"around.

Well, i prefer the term freaks. All I'm trying to do is get more folks to view the film - if I piss you off, join the fucking club.

See the film.

me too-
I'd like to say hello to Wavy some day he seems like a great guy...
I probably over reacted, I'm running out of food money and last night I had a(white) ex-soldier from South Africa explain how violent and stupid Americans are-
it's not what he said isn't partially true-
I guess I just took it too personally-
like the hippie thing.

I haven't paid to see a movie in a theater
in about 10 years.
watched a DVD from the library- "The Magic Bus" about the Kesey bus ride I found it wonderful.

funny Kesey doesn't look like a "hippie" he looks like a rugby coach..
it hard to tell the players with a card...

the internet is tricky too,I find myself deleting 1/2 of what I write...and sometimes think it should be 3/4s
thanks for the reply.
I feel better than I did an hour ago..
take care...

I saw it over the Holidays on Showtime, very entertaining, nice history lesson on the roots of the "movement".
